Our Aim:

At Poetry in France you will have the opportunity to meet with like minded people and be actively encouraged to explore and develop your creative potential. The concept is for everyone to be at one with themselves whilst working with people from different avenues of life brought together by a shared love of poetry and exploring the power of words. There are no formal qualifications needed, all we want to do is to get everyone writing:  You only need a love of poetry and a desire to write. Everyone is welcome – and whatever stage you are at with your writing there will be encouragement. The environment will be right for you to progress as an individual poet.

The course does not rely on the use of computers but we do have printing facilities, you are welcome to bring your own laptop. Please also bring your own favourite anthologies.

As well as meeting like minded people and making new friends; you will leave the course with more confidence in your own ability both as a writer and a performer of poetry. You will have a better knowledge of imagery, form structures and rhythm used in poetry. You can use this knowledge in both your own writing and in analysing the work of other poets. You will have created a personal anthology of your work.

You will be welcomed at La Veille Maison on Saturday evening by your hosts Penny and David and to meet with your Tutors Andrea and Victor, the Course will run from Monday to Friday leaving you free to complete your holiday and depart on Saturday morning.  The course will commence at 9.30 in the morning with a break for lunch at 12.30,  light refreshments will be served during morning. The afternoons will be devoted to review and appraisal or may be enjoyed as free time and relaxation.
