“Any healthy man can go without food for two days - but not without poetry”                                                             Charles Baudelaire

A warm welcome awaits you at La Vielle Maison in the village of St Paul Lizonne where Penny and David's "raison d'etre" is to provide you with a comfortable, relaxing and stress free environment.  Testimony to their success in achieving this is the number of visitors who return year after year.

The atmosphere is perfect for both course participants and partners. The accommodation with ensuite facilities will suit couples, individuals and families. Suites feature large stone Perigordien fireplaces and central heating. The hotel has been substantially upgraded in the last five years but still retains its traditional character.

The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and terrace with outstanding views over the open countryside.

Meals, will be prepared by Penny and be served in the oak beamed dining room or on the terrace.

Breakfast and evening meals, including wine, will be served at La Vielle Maison. Lunch with wine and refreshments as required will be provided at Le Bourg, just two minutes away, where the Poetry course takes place.

At Le Bourg you will have peace and quiet, beautiful views over open countryside and plenty of trees in the orchard to sit under if you need solitude to write. There is also a pool with a large terrace where much of the poetry reading and discussion will take place or the covered sun terrace with views over the Lizonne valley.

Lunch will be provided at Le Bourg at the end of each morning session. Non participating guests are welcome to join us at lunch.

On market days tuition takes place in the afternoon or late morning.
